Automatically fill several MedDRA fields is possible, all you need is an LLT Code and a MedDRA version.
This can be done in the following ways:
1 - Through the ICSR List (MedDRA autocoding)
2 - During the import of an E2B xml file
Method 1 - MedDRA autocoding
You don't even need to enter your ICSR to update all the MedDRA fields inside - just look at your ICSR list, it has a MedDRA function to hide or show your MedDRA auto Coding column, in case you wish to optimize your viewing experience.
Within this column you can select 1 or multiple ICSRs that you want to autocode your MedDRa fields into - you can also select them all at once
Now just select the MedDRA version you need
and hit the button "MedDRA auto Coding"
Now, after a bit you will be shown if there are any issues with your autocoding attempt:
The first column is your ICSR's code (so you know which one you need to check), then the respective MedDRA field that has an issue, and finally what kind of error (the most common being that the LLT code in the respective ICSR field is missing). You can export this table for later reference.
Now just close this window and observe within your ICSR(s) that your MedDRA fields are effectively updated to the MedDRA version of your choice:
And that as long as a given MedDRA field had both an LLT Code and a MedDRA version before the autocoding, these fields will be filled, except for the verbatim.
Method 2 - During the import of an E2B xml file
When you are importing a case into an ICSR:
Onevigilance automatically fills the MedDRA fields available in your form during this import, as long as your xml file has both an LLT code and the MedDRA version for each relevant field.
The MedDRA questions in your form should automatically go from empty pre-import, to something like this post-import:
You can access the full hierarchy by clicking on the eye symbol:
Important note: The Verbatim term must always be filled by hand and cannot be imported.
